Board of Directors ~

Gail R. Sigman, VP HR

A fourth generation Colorado native, Gail R. Sigman began her career over 20 years ago as the HR Director at the Brown Palace Hotel. After several years and the birth of her first child, she began consulting for high-end hotels such as the Four Seasons and the Los Angeles Biltmore, traveling from Alaska to Boston , Nashville to Toronto , and everywhere between, focusing on leadership development and the creation of organizational systems to support the unique needs of the service industry.

After her second child entered school, Gail took the job of Corporate Director of Organizational Development for Regal Hotels International, where she was first able to tie together interviewing and selection systems, training and development programs, performance management procedures and tools, reward and recognition activities, compensation, and feedback systems. “That’s why I love OD. There’s this wonderful thread we build among all the components of workforce management that creates a system wherein all the parts complement and coordinate together.”

Finding all that travel exhausting, Gail took on the role of Vice President of Human Resource for Land Title Guarantee Company in 1999. There, she concentrated on creating organizational infrastructure that enabled the company to double its size and number of locations.

Gail has served on the HR Advisory Board for Denver Public Schools , the Strategic Planning Board for the Montessori School of Denver, the International Baccalaureate Parent Association Board at George Washington High School , and was honored with the Best Practices Award by Mountain States Employers Council for a program developed at Land Title that rewards continuous improvement efforts.

In addition to her OD passion, Gail loves to conduct training. She taught several HR and supervisory courses for the American Hotel and Motel Association and public speaking classes at the University of Illinois . She has educated hundreds of managers in behavior based interviewing techniques, and worked closely with the staff at the Institute for Leadership and Organizational Performance within the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver , creating a curriculum for leadership development.

Gail has a BA in Communication from the University of Colorado and a MA in Organizational Communication from the University of Illinois .
