Laura Coburn, PhD., VP of Human Resources at tw telecom
Laura Coburn is an experienced Human Resource Executive with 15 years diverse industry experience in telecommunications, manufacturing, and financial services. She is an highly effective people leader who works closely with business partners to develop innovative and practical solutions to drive business results. She has experience in HR strategy, talent management, learning, leading change, organizational design and a deep assessment background. While in graduate school, Laura began the transition from her education and practice of psychology into corporate applications, getting her start developing and delivering training for Employee Assistance Programs. She began her career at First Data Corporation in organizational development and learning. She continued this work as the global leader for organizational and leadership development at Johns Manville. Currently, Laura is the VP of Human Resources providing organizational effectiveness support for tw telecom's Sales, Product, and Marketing functions. Formerly, Laura led the Talent Management organization at tw telecom bringing a progressive approach to Training, Recruiting, and Performance Management. Laura has a BA in Psychology from Barnard College at Columbia University, and both a MA and PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver.
